Meet The Team Behind Structural Oncology LLC

At Structural Oncology LLC, we're proud to introduce you to our dedicated team of experts, led by Dr. Deb Kelly, PhD, a renowned leader who developed the concept of structural oncology. With her extensive expertise, Dr. Kelly is here to provide personalized services tailored to your unique scientific needs.

Dr. Deb Kelly's research interest focus on innovative approaches to study biological systems, ranging from human viruses to cancer. Over the last decade, her team has studied the effects of inherited cancer mutations on isolated and underserved communities. These efforts led to innovative therapeutic strategies with the inception of “Structural Oncology” – a novel concept to combat molecular culprits of disease. She is passionate about elevating healthcare and STEM education by infusing resources to create successful program investments. As the recent president of the Microscopy Society of America, leader of Strategic Initiatives, and director of a multi-million-dollar research portfolio, she has demonstrated high-level team building skills, authentic leadership, and outstanding business acumen for over a decade. She is motivated to expand her role in the support of medical innovations to more impactfully improve human health.

  • Dr. Deborah Kelly - Executive Director

Deb Kelly completed her PhD in Molecular Biophysics at Florida State University and her post-doctoral training in Structural Biology at Harvard Medical School. During these pursuits, she developed technical breakthroughs in the field of cryo-Electron Microscopy (EM) that are now also being used by the materials research community. As interest in high-resolution imaging has skyrocketed in recent years, the Kelly team has been on the leading-edge of adapting these tools for biomedical applications involving human viruses and cancer. Dr. Kelly currently uses Liquid-EM to advance the “real-time revolution” in molecular microscopy, providing new insight for dynamic features of complex biological systems. She is currently our Executive Director with the vision to combat the molecular culprits of disease by revealing their hidden vulnerabilities.
